Overview of the position: Hours: Part-time (75%) Starting date: as soon as possible Duration: limited contract until 31.12.2027 Salary: According to TVöD Bund, pay grade E10 Location: Berlin, Germany Department & reporting line: Regional Peace Support MENA & Yemen
Your main tasks:
Support the project team in coordinating narrative and financial reporting across the various workstreams, including contributions to project proposals, donor reports, as well as financial and administrative procedures
The project officer will support dialogue initiatives with selected stakeholders and participants from Yemen and the Gulf region, contributing to organizing, coordinating, and implementing activities, in close cooperation with colleagues across Berghof Foundation
You are responsible for event organization and communication with participants in collaboration with Finance Managers (including flight and hotel bookings, contracting of service providers, collecting and preparing use evidence and other administrative tasks related directly to project activities)
You contribute to the development of concept notes, agendas and other relevant documents for the implementation of project activities and events
You conduct background research and develop abstracts about relevant topics
Your knowledge, experience & skills
You hold a master’s degree within relevant field such as Peace and Conflict Studies, Political Science, International Relations or similar field.
You have first relevant work experience (e.g. in contributing to international projects with local partners, budget management, et al.)
Curiosity, empathy, passion, commitment and perseverance.
You are willing to travel to Yemen and the MENA region more broadly, including to high-risk areas, as required.
You have experience in remote communication and cooperation, event organization and logistics, budget management and coordination of tasks in an international and intercultural setting.
Excellent verbal and written language skills in English (at least C1-level) and Arabic (at least B2 level).
